Tapered or half floating hose is positioned between the fully floating mainline and the downstream non-floating section. By gradually adjusting buoyancy distribution, body geometry and structural stiffness, this hose helps reduce local bending stress and improves line profile control where the hose string changes from floating service to submerged or shore-connected service.
